Busy, busy, busy!

In my work as a bartender over the years, I have seen many lives that have been deeply affected by various addictions. In order to promote awareness, Robin Mackintosh and I are working with Friends of Recovery for the First Annual Artilicious Art Fair which will take place August 14, 2010. This event will showcase local artists, raise funds for Friends of Recovery AND help stock the food pantry at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Overland Park, KS! Also, art lovers can get a head start on holiday shopping in air conditioned comfort! It's a WIN/WIN situation for everybody!
This is our call to artists....we are accepting applications until July 10, 2010.

Apron Trio

I just completed a trio of BBQ style aprons made of sturdy denim with extra fun & funky pockets. These will be in the shop (Eclectics) on Wednesday, June 9. More BBQ aprons will be coming soon! Woo Hoo! I just love BBQ!

I opened up Sunday's issue of the Star Magazine and was delighted to see one of my aprons featured on the first page - WOW! I am a lucky girl, indeed.

SUMMER!

Omigosh! It seems we've skipped spring and gone straight into full summer! My garden has been suffering due my busy-ness producing gorgeous aprons and preparing for Friends of a Feather. Yesterday was the first day I had time to plant, BEGIN weeding, etc. I worked myself into a frazzle, then had to go buy "just a few" more flowers......pictures will follow soon! Still catching my breath......puff, puff, puff!

My girl has been counting the day for weeks now until the end of school. We're almost there! We are looking forward to not getting up at six, and having a little more quality family time, and I'm looking forward to some time to work on producing more beautiful, fun, and functional things for your pleasure!

I think it's time to make some gazpacho........even tho' it's early for homegrown tomatoes and cucumbers, it sounds so DELICIOUS!!!

A Quickie...

I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything new......life is really crazy right now as I prepare for the Friends of a Feather event in two weeks! It is such a cheery, talented, engaging group of folks and I'm super-excited to be invited as a guest vendor! Many wares will be inside this lovely studio/home so don't let the weather keep you away from this fun event.
We are struggling with getting through my daughter's last few weeks of school. I can't wait until I can set the alarm for 7 am instead of 6 am, and I'm looking forward to having time to sew and create new things for you! I've got a batch of soap simmering in my kitchen that needs my attention. I told you this would be a quickie! Thanks for checking in on me....Liz

Whew! and Thanks!

Still catching up with myself after last weekend and Art on the Hill! I'm also still trying to get the hang of this blogging thang......feels kinda goofy sitting here typing stuff about me of all things! So...for today, I will thank the gang who organized Art on the Hill, my good friend Robin who has been so helpful and supportive as I spread my wings, my mom and daughter for their tireless help and support, and my home gallery Eclectics that I am so happy to be part of! My next appearance will be as a guest vendor at the Friends of a Feather event, the weekend of May 20. Woo hoo! Stay tuned for more info about this really fun event.

No pictures to post today, but watch for some exciting new aprons featuring 50's and 60's style pin up guys and gals! Nothing too risque, just a little naughty! and FUN! Hunky Fireman fabric on it's way from the West Coast........!

Hot Mama

This is a frantic week of last minute sewing, pricing, packaging...because Eclectics Gallery Cinco de Mama opening is this Friday, April 23 and I'm going to be in Art on the Hill the following day! I have so many ideas, so many things I want to make, and have to make a living and pay the bills while preparing for these events. I am trying a new apron style that is so feminine and flirty....this one is called Hot Mama, for obvious reasons. Welp, that's it for now! I've gotta go SEW!!!!
